Entrants must be between the ages of 10 and 18 years on 1 January 2010. They must either live in Cambridgeshire or attend a school in the county (this does not include Peterborough).
All entrants must complete the official entry form and return it to the address provided with the entry fee of £10 and two stamped addressed envelopes, to arrive no later than Saturday 28 November 2009. Entries after this date cannot be accepted. The entry fee is non refundable.
Competitors will compete in one of three age groups (see below). In each group there will be classes for wind, strings, piano, brass, percussion and voice. A competitor's age group will be determined by their age on 1 January 2010.
At all stages the decision of the adjudicators will be final and no discussion will be entered into.

Choice of music to perform
Entrants select their own choice of music for both the preliminary rounds and Finals. A piece played at the preliminary rounds may be performed again at the Finals. Competitors may perform accompanied or unaccompanied. Performance time (including time between pieces if more than one is performed) must not exceed:
