Are you interested in composing? Would you like to learn more about composing techniques and get guidance on writing for different instruments?
Our free composing workshop will help you! This event is open to all and will be led by Cambridge composer Jeremy Thurlow.
Selections from the entries to the Cambridge Young Composer of the Year competition will be performed at the workshop. Jeremy Thurlow will discuss the pieces and use them to provide insights and advice on composing techniques.
This year the competition pieces had to be composed for any combination of piano, cello, trumpet and clarinet. They will be performed by four professional musicians who will also give feedback on the compositions from a player's perspective.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday 7 March, 7.30pm in the Music School at the Leys School, Cambridge, by kind permission of the school.
